Maarif Education is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Joe Paget as the Founding Headteacher of Sherborne School Jeddah.
Educated at Eton College, the University of Bristol, and qualifying as a teacher at Canterbury Christ Church University, Joe brings a wealth of global leadership experience from esteemed schools across the UK, South America, Europe, and Asia.
Throughout his career, Joe has championed a forward-thinking and holistic approach to education, placing innovation, co-curricular enrichment, and pupil well-being at the heart of his leadership. Most recently, as Headmaster of St Catherine’s British School in Athens, he cultivated a close-knit, inclusive school community while embracing cutting-edge technologies to deliver an exceptional educational experience.
Joe and his wife Clara are expecting their first child in December and are already enjoying their new lifestyle in Jeddah. Joe describes himself as a futurist and an advocate of innovation, dedicated to fostering meritocratic cultures that inspire creativity and learning. Outside of work, he can usually be found playing cricket and golf.
Joe shared his vision for Sherborne School Jeddah:
“This September, we embark on an exciting journey with the opening of Sherborne School Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in close partnership with the prestigious Sherborne Schools UK, a historic institution dating back to 1550. Our new school will offer a truly outstanding British education in world-class facilities, where pupils will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of interests, including academics, music, art, drama, technology, and sport.
Across centuries, Sherborne has nurtured young minds, shaping generations of leaders, thinkers, and trail-blazers. Building upon this rich heritage, we are committed to delivering an ambitious and innovative education with a strong emphasis on creativity for a tech- enabled world.”
Sherborne School Jeddah will open its doors in September 2025, offering a pioneering, world-class British education that upholds Sherborne’s traditions while embracing the future.
